It is very common for women of different ages to present problems of hormonal imbalance such as Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), premature ovarian failure, hyperprolactinemia, or hypothyroidism.

Due to these conditions, the body does not perform its functions properly and the life of adolescents, young and adult women are conditioned, especially at the fertile age. For this reason, hormonal disorders must be treated diligently to avoid problems related to fertility and metabolism.

What causes Hormonal Imbalance?

What causes Hormonal Imbalance?

Hormones act as messengers, there are different forms of hormonal communication, but the one that conforms to the endocrine system itself is carried out through the bloodstream. Hormonal processes control metabolism and reproduction.

Some hormonal problems are the result of aging, but others occur when the endocrine glands in charge of producing hormones secrete them incorrectly, due to the presence of pathology.

Indicators

Indicators

The importance of a hormonal balance lies in the fact that hormones are in charge of regulating the physiological processes of the human being. Therefore, hormonal imbalance can be the cause of side effects in our organism.

For both women and men, the sex hormones estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone are responsible for important processes to maintain the proper functioning of our body. Their lack or increase leads to specific problems for each sex, in the case of women, due to inadequate levels of estrogen and progesterone, the following conditions may occur:

  • Premenstrual syndrome is due to low progesterone levels in relation to estrogen.

  • Acne, after age 20 may be due to low progesterone and cortisol, androgen insulin, and high estrogen.

  • Sleeping problems, blood sugar imbalance, cortisol, or stress.

  • For menstrual problems, no progesterone is produced which keeps the estrogen hormone under control.

How to avoid it

How to avoid it

There are numerous ways to prevent or regulate hormonal imbalance, all of which are directed toward a life with healthy habits, a healthy diet, exercise routine and if warranted, the consumption of anti-androgens and estrogens.

Consuming antioxidants to raise DHEA levels can help prevent hormone imbalance, antioxidants can be found in foods such as oranges, lemon, and blueberries.

It is also important to increase the intake of vitamins, folic acid, calcium, magnesium, iodine, and Omega 3. As mentioned, diet and physical activity can be factors of considerable importance in regulating hormonal processes in the body.

Another aspect to consider in the care of women, includes menstruation, because, in case of hormonal problems, bleeding is greater, can be clotted, or is absent, for this we recommend the use of ecological pads, which ensure optimal hygiene and comfort.
