How many eco pads do I need for my menstrual cycle?

  • For light flows:

For light menstrual cycles lasting no more than 3-4 days. A collection of ecological pads, normal reusable menstrual pads could be of great help to you.

A total of 12 to 16 pads should be enough to cover your entire cycle. Use panty liners for the last few days of your period, regular reusable pads for the day, and larger pads for the night.

  • For prolonged flow:

If your flow is light and lasts 4-6 days. A kit of 16 to 24 eco pads would be more than enough. You can combine panty liners for the first and last day, regular light bleeding reusable pads for the day, and heavy bleeding eco pads for the night, as there will be more time between changes.

  • For a moderate flow:

If you have a medium flow that lasts between 4 to 6 days you can prepare your kit with approximately 20 to 30 eco pads. Combine this collection with panty liners for when spotting starts, normal flow pads for daytime, and heavy flow pads for nighttime.

  • For heavy flow:

In case your flow is much more abundant and prolonged with a duration of 4 to 6 days. A kit of 24 to 32 pads would be ideal. You can also combine it with panty liners for the last day spotting and regular and night eco pads

The beginning will be a bit complicated.

You don't have to feel overwhelmed when you start using eco pads. You don't need to have the number of pads mentioned above all at once. You can build up your reusable pad kit little by little. If you wish, you can also combine them with menstrual panties, these will be very helpful.

At first, cloth pads will cost you much more than a pack of disposable pads, but keep in mind that they will last much longer - that's a total of 10 years!
