1. Using these pads is easier than you think
Placing an eco-friendly sanitary pad is a very simple task, thanks to the wings and buttons it has.
Similar to disposable pads, you just have to unfold the two lateral wings and gently wrap around your underwear to attach it.
2. Always use them with tight underwear
Eco-friendly sanitary pads are not completely fixed because they do not have an adhesive layer that sticks to underwear. Thus, they might move a little if you do some specific activities.
But, don’t worry! There is nothing you should worry about. There will not be any accidental leaks.
One recommendation is to wear tight underwear during your menstrual days. This will make you feel really comfortable and safe.
3. How often you should change your eco-friendly sanitary pads
Each body is unique; hence, you will need to change your eco-friendly pad according to your kind of menstrual flow.
If your menstruation is heavy, you will have to change your pad at least every 3 hours; this is, you will need about 6 reusable pads per day.
On the other hand, if your menstruation is light, you will not need to change it as often; every 6 hours will be enough. In total, you will need 2 to 3 reusable pads per day.
4. Wash your eco-friendly sanitary pads correctly
- Rinse
The most recommendable thing is to rinse your eco-friendly pad as soon as you change it. It will make it easier for you to remove the blood because it is not completely dry yet.
- Wash
Whether you wash your pad by hand or washing machine, make sure you use gentle soap; if it is biodegradable, much better. Avoid laundry softeners and stain removers at all costs.
- Dry
Once you have washed your eco-friendly sanitary pad, you can dry it. The most recommendable thing to do is to sundry; if you use a dryer, there is a risk the fabric will start to lose its absorption capacity.
Using an eco-friendly sanitary pad is nothing to be ashamed of. You are taking care of the environment and most importantly, you are taking care of yourself.
