Throughout her life, a woman experiences endless changes within her body. Just as hormones can vary at every stage, so can vaginal pH.

From childhood to adulthood, it is important to be attentive to all these changes that occur in our intimate area, maintaining proper hygiene, and applying products that do not affect vaginal health.

Keep in mind that feminine hygiene and especially taking care of the intimate area are totally different from taking care of other parts of the body. This area has special characteristics that require much more specific care.

Join me to learn a little more about this topic? Let's get started!

Taking care of your intimate area in childhood, adolescence, and adulthood.

Feminine hygiene during childhood.

Just as general body hygiene is important for optimal health, intimate hygiene is also fundamental. That is why raising awareness of vaginal care from an early age has an impact on the rest of a woman's life.

Learning to wipe properly after going to the bathroom is one of the first tips we should give to girls. Wiping should always be done from front to back and very carefully, patting and not rubbing the paper or wipe.

During adolescence.

The biggest changes in women occur during puberty. It is in this transition period between childhood and adolescence, where physical and hormonal changes are experienced.

During this period the vaginal flora begins to generate lactic acid, thus causing an increase in the vaginal pH.

Not to mention that it is in this age range that the menstrual period cycle begins, so the pH may be affected, making the vagina run at risk of infection.

During adulthood:

  • During pregnancy:

During pregnancy, feminine hygiene is essential. In this period, the vaginal pH is much more acidic than usual, so the woman is more prone to suffer of infection.

It is recommended during this time to maintain good hygiene by applying appropriate products, in addition to avoiding an infectious process, these products can help to recover the vaginal flora after childbirth.

  • During menopause:

During menopause, the vaginal pH is constantly unbalanced. It is in this period of a woman's life that there is a noticeable thinning of the vaginal mucosa. Making this area much more vulnerable to possible infections. Therefore, it is essential to maintain correct hygiene habits.

Remember, from childhood onwards, proper feminine hygiene is fundamental. Washing your intimate area once or twice a day will not only make you feel fresher but will help prevent future infections.

During your period, we recommend using our ecological pads and reusable panties. Because they are chemical-free, the pH of your vagina will not be affected.
