The genitals are an important and fabulous part of a woman's body since it has to do with reproduction and pleasure. They have an internal, i.e. non-visible part called the reproductive apparatus, which in turn is composed of a series of other elements that we will discuss later, including the vagina.

On the other hand, there is also a visible external part and it is what we erroneously and commonly call the vagina, which in the correct terminology is the vulva. In the same way, it is also composed of several parts, which will also be discussed later.

That being said, the question is, do you really know your genital area? Let's dive deep.

External parts of the female genital area

First of all, it should be clear that the vulva is the set of external female genitalia: it includes the vaginal lips, the clitoris, the vaginal opening, and the urethral orifice.

  • Vaginal lips: The vaginal lips are folds of skin around the vaginal opening. The labia majora (outer lips) are usually fleshy and covered with pubic hair. The labia minora (inner labia) are inside the outer labia.

  • Clitoris: The tip of the clitoris is located at the top of the vulva, where the inner lips meet. It is composed of spongy tissue that expands during sexual arousal.

  • Urethral orifice: A small opening for urination located just below the clitoris.

  • Vaginal opening: It is located just below the urethral opening. This is where babies are born and where menstruation leaves the body.

  • Mount of Venus: A fleshy mound above the vulva. After going through puberty, it is covered with pubic hair.

Internal parts of the female genital area

Secondly, you should keep in mind that the vagina is a duct that connects the vulva with the cervix and the uterus. This is where babies and menstruation come out. It is an internal genital area.

Among the most relevant internal parts are:

  • Cervix: The cervix divides the vagina and the uterus, and is located just between the two.

  • Uterus: A pear-shaped muscular organ where the fetus develops during pregnancy. During sexual arousal, the lower part of the uterus rises and this causes the vagina to expand during sexual arousal.

  • Fallopian tubes: The fallopian tubes are 2 narrow ducts that carry eggs from the ovaries to the uterus.

  • Ovaries: The ovaries store eggs. They also produce hormones, including estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone.

  • The hymen: A thin, fleshy tissue that extends across part of the opening of the vagina.

  • G-spot: Also called the Gräfenberg point, it is located a few inches inside your vagina.

Knowing your body is of utmost importance, and taking care of it is even more important, so we invite you to use the ecological pads and period panties that will make you feel comfortable, safe, and happy, allowing you to perform your routine activities without any inconvenience.

Being an eco woman gives you the opportunity to have in your hands all the information that, as a woman, you should always keep in mind so that you always enjoy good health.
